Zambosur covets Philippines’ Best Sanitation Award |

Governor Aurora E. Cerilles proudly announced that Bagong Oroquieta of Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur bags the National Search for Barangay with Best Sanitation Practices. Having been informed about this remarkable achievement, Governor Cerilles relayed this good news to municipal mayors and congratulated Guipos mayor Francisco Oraiz, Jr. present during her consultative conference with them for Department of Health’s commodity self-reliance (CSR), Agrarian Reform Community Project - phase 2 and Geo-resistivity survey at the Capitol last Friday (Nov. 7). Cerilles lauded Bagong Oroquieta barangay officials headed by Captain Joel A. Japon and residents for such honor and prestige it brought for Zamboanga del Sur. She noted that the unprecedented triumph of Bagong Oroquieta is quite remarkable for a barangay from the second to the youngest town of the province having attained a national distinction. |

Zambosur officials welcome RD Sunglao |

Governor Aurora E. Cerilles ushered her board members and municipal mayors in welcoming Chief Superintendent Angelo H. Sunglao, the new PNP regional director in Region 9 through a luncheon party at Hotel Alindahaw last Nov. 11. She first received Sunglao at her office who paid a courtesy visit to her not only as the Governor of Zamboanga del Sur but as chairperson of the two powerful councils in the region - the Regional Peace and Order Council and Regional Development Council as well. For almost an hour, the Governor shared notes to the new PNP Regional Director about peace and order condition of the province and region-wide, in general. Sunglao and party were accompanied by Provincial Director Ramon M. Ochotorena. |

DTI Zambosur extols performing OTOP partners |

Five entrepreneurs, two local government units and two line agencies were given recognition as top performing OTOP partners in Zamboanga del Sur. On the 2nd Provincial OTOP (One Town One Product) Forum last November 25, Governor Aurora E. Cerilles and Department of Trade and Industry Provincial Director Maria Socorro M. Atay awarded Plaque of Recognition to the following local entrepreneurs as Most Promising OTOP Micro-Small Medium Enterprises across the province, namely: 1) Nutribooster Food Philippines owned and managed by Concordio Bolusan who produced nutribooster cerials based in Balangasan, Pagadian City; 2) Village Technocraft manufacturing furnitures and housewares made of lapakanay in Parasan, Molave, this province owned by Pedro Hernan, Jr., 3) Yllana Bay Food Products of Nerita Pastrana in Tiguma, this city producing bottled sardines, 4) J Angel’s Food Products with banana chips of Josefina Jamero from Maralag, Dumingag, and Lady “J” Food Products (salted dried fish) of Jocelyn Rambon at Poblacion, Vincenzo Sagun, this province. |
