Water
Resources
The
province is endowed with considerable water resources. These are
classified into rivers, lakes, and marine waters.
There are three (3) principal
rivers, namely: the Salug River, in Josefina, Mahayag, Molave and
Ramon Magsaysay; the Labangan River in Labangan and Pagadian City
and Sibuguey River in Bayog. In addition there are minor rivers
and creeks which are found in the different municipalities in the
province and are utilized for domestic uses.
The freshwater lakes
are the Lakewood Lake in Lakewood with an area of 722 hectares;
Lake Dasay in San Miguel with 40 hectares; and Lake Maragang and
Lake Timolan with a total combined area of 20 hectares at Tigbao.
Marine waters stretch
to the coastlines of 14 coastal municipalities and the city of Pagadian.
