Generating Plant

Presently, the Province is served by the National Power Corporation (NPC) Hydro-Electric Plants (Agus I-VII) with Agus River and Maria Cristina Falls in Iligan City as its power sources.

Major Sub-Stations and Transmission Lines

The major sub-stations in the Province are operated and maintained by the NPC, thru its franchisers the ZAMSURECO I and ZAMSURECO II. NPC sub-station is located in the Municipality of Aurora. ZAMSURECO I stations are located in Pagadian City and San Miguel while ZAMSURECO II station is found in Ipil. The two (2) major transmission lines of NPC, which are made up of steel towers and wood poles are 138 KV and 69 KV, respectively. (Table 7-12)

Status of Energization

ZAMSURECO I electric cooperative with main office located in Pagadian City covers 23 municipalities and one (1) city in the province. ZAMSURECO II has its main office in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay which includes its coverage the municipalities of Kumalarang, Lakewood and Bayog, all of Zamboanga del Sur.

ZAMSURECO I energized a total of 357 barangays or 57.49% of the 621 potential barangays for energization in the Province. While total approved membership reached 53,587 the total house connections reached to 66,412 HHs only. In the same manner, the ZAMSURECO II has served 30 barangays in the three (3) municipalities of the western part of the province. (Table 7-13)
