The upgrading of the educational system in the
Province is the primary and priority concern of the education sector.
School curricula have been restructured to give greater emphasis
on scientific, vocational and technical learning experiences to
ensure productivity and personality development.
The Province has two (2) Schools Divisions, the
ZDS Schools Division and the City of Pagadian Schools Division.
The ZDS Schools Division covers the 26 municipalities with 32 School
Districts while Pagadian School Division covers Pagadian City with
five (5) School Districts. The 32 School Districts of ZDS Schools
Division are organized into clusters to form six (6) Pilot Training
Centers. A district centrally located and accessible to the satellite
districts is identified as a Pilot Training Center. (Table 6-1)

On the other hand, the Pagadian City Schools Division
covers the five (5) school districts located in Pagadian City, namely:
City East District with nine (9) Elementary Schools (ES); City Central
District with 12 Elementary Schools; City South District with 11
Elementary Schools and one (1) Primary School; City West District
with 16 Elementary Schools and the City North District with 11 Elementary
Schools.
