Tourism Potentials and Attractions

Eriberta’s Spring at MolaveThe Province is endowed with vast natural attractions such as hills and mountains, beaches, caves, waterfalls, springs and lakes. Some of these attractions are developed as economic enterprises by the Municipal Government Units or by some private groups. However, many of these remain untapped due to inaccessibility and funding constraints. (Table 5-14)

Eco-Tourism Destinations
Zamboanga del Sur is naturally and environmentally attractive with its caves, rivers and lakes, mountains and valleys. Like the famous and beautiful Lakewood is fifteen kilometers from Barangay Tubod, Lakewood. The enchanted Lake Dasay and the One Hundred Caves of San Miguel, and the moutain lake Maragang at the top of Mt. Timolan, the last frontier of Zamboanga del Sur.

The Province is also a tourist haven with the Eriberta’s Spring in Molave, The Aurora Mountain Resort in Aurora, and the Herons Haven in Dumingag were you can see the home of thousand White Carabao Egret species.
