BSP Zamboanga del Sur-Pagadian City Council Hall of farmer ; Lorillard Spencer Awardee

During the 61st Annual National Council Meeting of the Boy Scout of the Philippines on May 16-18, 2017 held at Tagbilaran Bohol, councils throughout the Philippines were recognized and awarded according to the level of performance in the 4 categories such as membership, advancement, activities and trainings.

The Zamboanga del Sur-Pagadian City Council has received its third Lorillard Spencer Award for Best Performance on Scout Membership. The council is now a Hall of Fame holder for receiving consecutively three Lorillard Spencer Award for Scout Membership. This is because the council has been consistent for being number one in the whole Philippines on the membership category. Another Lorillard Spencer Award was conferred to Zamboanga del Sur-Pagadian City Council for Best Performance on Scout Advancement.

Council Scout Executive Ereberto Sumalinog disclosed that a council can only receive a Lorillard Spencer Award if it is an awardee for three consecutive years for Best Performance in any or all of the four categories. And for receiving three (3) consecutive Lorillard Spencer Award a council will become a Hall of Fame holder.

Other councils nationwide according to him looked up to Zamboanga del Sur-Pagadian City Council for its best performance. Among the twelve (12) councils in Western Mindanao, he added, Zamboanga del Sur-Pagadian City Council is on the lead especially on its scout membership.

Council Scout Executive Ereberto Sumalinog pointed out that all these are the result of the full support and initiative of its Council Chairman and currently the Senior Vice President of the Boy Scout of the Philippines Governor Antonio H. Cerilles, the all out support of the local officials of the province, municipalities, barangays and the Department of Education.
