Dumalinao Celebrates 61st Araw ng Dumalinao

The Municipality of Dumalinao celebrated its 61st Araw ng Dumalinao on June 6 to 16, 2017. Part of the celebration that makes the week long celebration festive are the following activities, to wit: Kalubihan Festival; Blessing of the new Gym; 2017 Commercial Basketball Tournament; Football Festival; Motocross Competition; Medical/Dental and Optical Outreach; LGU Fellowship Night; Hiphop Dance Competition; Farmers Market; Awarding of 2017 Outstanding Vendor; Awarding of the 2017 Model Barangay; Beautiful Buntis; Municipal Clean-up/Coastal Clean-up; Miss Dumalinao 2017; Float Parade for Top 5 Miss Dumalinao; Street Dance and Festival Queen Competition.

To keep the people of Dumalinao and their guests safe during the celebration, the municipal government headed by Mayor Junaflor Sweet Cerilles activated the Incident Management Team under the supervision of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office. They have also deployed police, traffic, and tanod to secure the peace and order during the celebration. An emergency hotline was posted and they also identified an evacuation center.

Before starting every activity, the participants, guests and constituents of Dumalinao were reminded and briefed what to do and where to go if ever a calamity or incident happed.

With the festivities and all, the municipality still strictly implemented the No Plastic policy and the Smoking Ban as well.

On her facebook account Mayor Sweet expressed how grateful she is to the people who help her for the big event, “I have to thank God and the people behind the scene! They played a big part in making this event a successful one! They were there since day 1. They prepared the stage, videos, photos, food, and venue and made our events safe and secure. To the dream squad, usherettes, Disaster team, RHU, PNP, LGU officials and employees, volunteers, Love you guys to the moon and back! To our amazing judges, thank you in behalf of the Dumalinaons. To our generous sponsors we can’t thank you enough”.
