Paskuhan 2016 Opens in Pagadian
This is a special treat for all of us where we can enjoy Christmas with lights and music and a lent showcase of the Pagadianons every night. Over the years, this variety show brings us closer and unites us in love.
Zamboangadel Sur Vice Governor Ace William Cerilles said during the opening of thePaskuhan 2016 in Pagadian City which officially opened last December 2 at the City Plaza.
In his speech, Vice Governor Cerilles pointed out that Christmas should be the time to be with the loved ones and the season of sharing and giving and at the same time a chance for reconciliation and restoration of good relations.
Meanwhile, City Vice Mayor Ernesto Mondarte in his message said that the local Government of Pagadian leads the opening of the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ which is the symbol of peace and good relations of all people.He added that the people are all reminded of the true essence of love and compassion within the family and the community as a whole.
He also delivered his aspirations that as all the people who celebrate Christmas would not simply do the good things on December but all throughout the year.
On the other hand, Pagadian City Mayor Romeo Pulmones said that after the opening program, nightly variety shows will take place at the City Plaza with the following schedule: Zamboanga del Sur School of Arts and Trade and the Southern Mindanao Colleges on December 3; Napolan National high School and Universidad de Zamboanga on December 4; Pagadian City Comprehensive National High School and Medina College on December 10; EMCOTECH and Zamboanga del Sur Maritime Institute of Technology Teatro Masskara on December 11.
The daily nightly shows will start on December 17 with the Melengas Dance Ensemble of the Zamboanga del Sur National High School and the Western Mindanao State University-External Studies Unit; Sta. Lucia National High School and JH Cerilles State College on December 18.
Show of Pagadianon talents will be on December 19 with the Rallego Dance and Ballet Kids, and “G” Warriors Production and the Pagadian Best Dance Crew on December 20.
Pagadianons and visitors will experience all-night laughter and fun with the Kazadya Stand-up comedians and the Pagadianon Magician on December 21, while audience will dance their heart out on December 22 with the Pagadian Best Dance Crew 2 and will be followed with a hiphop dance contest.
On December 23, Battle of Beatbox and a presentation by the Frontrow Production will take place; while on December 24 there will be a Battle of Magicians and another night of laughter with the 7th Street Comedian.
It was also announced that on December 31, a “Sugatsa Bag-ong Tuig” will take place with another fireworks display so Pagadianons will have to enjoy the sites instead of firing their own firecrackers, according to Mayor Pulmones. He added that the City Government wanted to achieve the zero injury-casualty incidents related to firecrackers.
