Bannered by the theme “ZDSMC, Ready Set Go, Ospital Laging Handa at Maaasahan”, doctors, nurses and employees of Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center gathered together at ZDSMC main ground to start their 9th anniversary and hospital week celebration with a parade within the Provincial Government Center last October 16-20, 2017.

It was then followed with a Zumba Competition participated by all employees in which they were divided into four groups namely, Black Knights, Green Archers, Blue Assassins and Maroon Warriors.

“Mamainit sa ZDSMC” was also organized at OPD Lobby where they had their coffee and breakfast and Governor Tony Cerilles graced their opening program as the guest speaker. In his message, he acknowledged all the workers of the said hospital headed by Chief of Hospital Dra. Rovel Blancia in their 9th Anniversary and he encouraged everyone to continue doing their best in giving service to the people who trusted the hospital.

Thanksgiving Mass and Blessings of the whole building was harmonized at the Old Admin Office.

The Culmination Program of the said celebration was graced by Vice Governor Ace William Cerilles and the woman behind the ZDSMC, 2nd District Representative Aurora Enerio-Cerilles as the keynote speaker.

During her speech, she remembered how ZDSMC started until today having its great development and now declared by the DOH as best LGU-Run Hospital in the country. She also presented all the newly acquired hospital facilities and newly opened buildings in order to cater the people not just in Zamboanga del Sur but even in the neighboring provinces.

“A hospital is more than a place where people go to heal, it is a part of the community that fosters health and represents hope. From providing treatment and comfort to the sick, to welcoming new life into the world, hospitals are central to a healthy and optimistic community”, expressed Congw. Au Cerilles.

She also appreciated all the doctors, nurses and employees of the said hospital who serve as the instruments in the improvement of the said project even if it cost them to leave their families especially at night just to give service to the needy patients.

The celebration ended with so much fun where they gathered together and experience joy and a little break from their responsibilities.
